Authentication and Cookies
POU uses essential cookies and similar technologies to keep you signed in, protect sessions, remember necessary settings and prevent abuse. Authentication is provided through Amazon Cognito. We do not use essential authentication data for third-party advertising.
Homepage Analytics
With your consent, POU collects anonymous homepage analytics including a random visitor and session identifier, country code, device category, browser and operating-system family, language, time zone, screen and viewport dimensions, referring domain, campaign parameters, page views and active time. We do not store your raw IP address in the homepage analytics database or connect these analytics identifiers to a POU user account.
Country is estimated server-side from the request IP using edge-provider country headers when available or Country.is. The provider receives the IP required to return a country code and states that it does not log lookup requests. You can decline analytics or change your choice through the homepage cookie preferences.
POU separately identifies automated homepage traffic at the server request layer to protect the service and keep human analytics accurate. Known crawler signatures are classified by bot family; Google and Bing claims are checked using reverse and forward DNS. We store the classification, requested path, user agent, country code and keyed hashes of the user agent and source IP, but not the raw IP address. This server-side bot record does not use an analytics cookie or connect the request to a POU account.
Messages and User Content
Information you publish may be visible to other users or the public according to the relevant feature and your settings. Messages are visible to conversation participants and may be accessed by authorized staff when reasonably necessary to investigate abuse, provide support, secure the service or comply with law.
Support and External Services
POU may allow members to express support, connect with one another or continue certain transactions through third-party providers. POU does not hold, transfer or take custody of member funds. Where payment or account onboarding features are enabled, providers such as Stripe process information under their own privacy terms. Project links may also be checked with security services such as Google Safe Browsing.
Data Sharing
POU does not sell personal information. We may share information only when reasonably necessary with:
- Cloud, authentication, database, storage, email, security and country-lookup providers that operate the service
- Payment or identity providers when you choose to use a feature that requires them
- Professional advisers, auditors or transaction participants subject to appropriate safeguards
- Legal authorities when required by applicable law or necessary to protect rights and safety
Service providers are permitted to process information only for the services they provide to POU.
Cloud Infrastructure
POU is operated on Amazon Web Services infrastructure. Current core services include Amazon Cognito for authentication, Amazon S3 for private media storage, and managed PostgreSQL database and application hosting services. Providers and architecture may change as the platform evolves.
Data Security
We use safeguards designed to protect information, including HTTPS/TLS communication, secure authentication, role-based access controls, private storage and infrastructure monitoring. No internet-based service can guarantee absolute security, and users are responsible for protecting their credentials.
Data Retention and Account Deletion
We retain information for as long as needed to provide the service, meet legal obligations, resolve disputes and protect the platform. You may request account deletion by contacting support@powerofusers.com. We aim to complete valid deletion requests within 30 days. Certain transaction, legal, fraud-prevention and security records may be retained longer where required or permitted by law. Public content and backups may take additional time to be removed.
Your Privacy Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict or obtain a copy of your personal information, or object to certain processing. These may include rights under the GDPR and applicable United States privacy laws. To make a request, contact us using the address below. We may need to verify your identity before completing a request.
International Data Transfers
POU is a global platform operated by a United States company. Information may be processed in the United States and other countries where our providers operate. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for international transfers.
Children's Privacy
POU is not intended for children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided information, please contact us.
